NEW - COPPER RIVET SPIRITS

Copper Rivet Distillery is situated at Chatham Dockyard (6 miles from Spice Fusion).

NEW LOCALLY PRODUCED SPIRITS - available on our new menu

As well as being local, they are the only spirit maker in Kent (and one of just a few in the UK) that undertakes the complete process of brewing and distilling from grain to glass, ensuring their range of premium spirits is totally distinctive and unique. Set in the historic and magnificent Victorian Pump House No. 5,.

We're delighted to add their range of hand-crafted spirits to our range of spirits.

  • DOCKYARD GIN (41.2% abv.) - Crafted in “Janet” (a unique hand-made copper Banik still), this gin steers tradition into unexpected waters.

  • VELA VODKA (40.0% abv.) - Early-harvest Kentish wheat, barley and rye are selected for this distinctive vodka. It’s then distilled in small batches before being charcoal filtered for purity.

  • SON OF A GUN (47.4% abv.) - A unique grain spirit with a soft flavour, with floral notes and tastes of tropical fruit, vanilla and honey.

NEW - NELSON BREWERY BEERS

Also from the Chatham Dockyard, we are adding Nelson Brewery ales to our beer range.

Obviously, we had to go and taste the beers before deciding which ones to stock!

Brewing was first brought to the dockyard by the Flagship Brewery in 1995, where it established a five barrel kit brewing up to 100 firkins a week. In 2003 the brewery was bought and renamed the Nelson Brewing Company to fall in line with the most famous naval hero of all time 'Admiral Horatio Nelson' and that his flagship 'The Victory' was built here in Chatham Dockyard.

Each of the ales brewed by Nelsons Brewery have nautical themed names to gel with their surroundings. We've selected three of these to get the barrel rolling at Spice Fusion, all available in 500ml bottle serves:

  • ADMIRAL IPA (4.0% abv.) - A traditional IPA Beer brewed using Kentish Cascade Hops.

  • POWDER MONKEY (4.4% abv.) - A Dark Golden Ale with a smooth taste and produces a sweetness on the palate.

  • FRIGGIN’ IN THE RIGGIN (4.7% abv.) - A premium bitter with a smooth malt flavour and a bitter sweet aftertaste.

NEW - BIDDENDEN VINEYARD "FIZZ"

Biddenden Vineyards in South-West Kent has been producing locally produced wines since the late 1960's. We're delighted to be adding their award-winning Pinot Reserve "fizz" to our menu - we think it tastes better than the champagne from across the Channel!

Originally home to a 40 acre apple orchard, the vineyard's owners started to consider diversifying the farm as apple prices began to decline. In 1969, one third of an acre of vines was planted and Biddenden Vineyards was born!

Today, their single estate vineyard spans 23 acres of gentle south facing slopes situated in a sheltered valley, just outside the picturesque Wealden village of Biddenden. All of the grapes used are grown here producing award-winning English wines.

  • PINOT RESERVE (2014) - A dry, fruity sparkling wine, rich and creamy with hints of brioche, good length and mousse.

NEW - "BEING GOOD" DISHES

With everyone trying to eat a little "better" these days, we believe it's important to help people achieve this when they are eating at Spice Fusion. The only rule we have is that any "healthy" alternative we add to the menu must taste as great as the original dish!

Our new "Being Good" dishes have been tasted many times in their creation - to ensure they were diet-friendly AND that they tasted as good as anything else on our menu.

With this in mind, we introduced a vegan curry to our menu in the Autumn. It's delicious (in our humble opinion!) and we're delighted that both vegan and non-vegan customer are choosing it.

Since then we've been working hard to bring "healthy curry" to our menu. Whilst Indian cooking is already pretty healthy for you, the challenge was to create specific "low-fat" options that haven't lost any flavour, when compared to their traditional recipe version.

Using our Head Chef Abul's cookery skills, along with talking to a few customers and "healthy eating professionals", our new low-fat dishes only contain lean meat and minimal oil is used in their cooking.

Our exclusive spice blends are used to really bring these low-fat dishes to life.

"Being Good" Jalfrezi - here served with Chicken

"BEING GOOD” ACHA (STARTER)

Acha translates as “Born Good” and this starter can be ordered with chicken or Red Snapper. Using light spices and no oil, they are grilled in the hot, dry tandoor oven to bring out the flavour and are served with a light salad garnish.

“BEING GOOD” BHUNA CURRY

A mildly spiced option that includes gently cooked onions, tomatoes and peppers, with garlic, ginger and coriander.

“BEING GOOD” JALFREZI CURRY

The spicier choice, with ginger, whole green chillies, red and green peppers and fresh coriander.

Both curries are available as chicken, lamb, Red Snapper, King Prawn or vegetables main courses and we recommend plain rice and perhaps add one poppadom to go with your main course too.

We think these low-fat dishes taste great and we hope once you've tasted them you'll think the same - please do let us know!
