Make your flowers "blooming" spectacular...
Whilst a bunch of daffodils brings joy to a mum and her home, something even more special might be just what you want to give.
Edens Florist is a family-run business that not just has great flowers, but offers unique ways of presenting them to give them a really "wow" for the day (check out the teddy bear in the shop window!).
You can order online or we'd suggest popping in before the event - a lovely team of people that will really help you with your choice.

Start the day with a great breakfast...
Whilst making breakfast for mum is an obvious win, when there’s family involved too, this often isn’t the best idea with all the washing-up involved.
A suggestion is to make a visit to Parkwood Cafe in our local precinct. With its friendly staff, large seating booths and many options for what to eat it’s already loved by many - check out its TripAdvisor reviews here!
Parkwood Cafe, 4 Parkwood Green, Rainham, Kent. ME8 9PN
Open on Mother's Day from 9am - 2pm.
NOTE: We would have suggested 3:Sixteen Cafe too, but it is closed on a Sunday!
Get off the sofa and go for a walk…
Whilst we’ve all got a great boxset still to binge on, there’s nothing better than to get out and get some fresh-air spending time with the family.
BREDHURST WOODS
Bredhurst Woods is an area of 600 acres of ancient woodland and is one of the largest woods in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The woods have been cared for by local people for hundreds of years.
A walk along the winding paths of Bredhurst Woods and the adjoining chalk grassland is a feast for the senses at any time of year where you will see ancient trees, wildflowers and a variety of wildlife.
Discover more before you head out (including a rather good map!) on the Bredhurst Woodland Action Group website.
QUEENDOWN WARREN
If the last time you visited Queendown Warren was to go sledging down its great hills, why not discover its fantastic views and nature without the snow this Mother’s Day.
The original site was a rabbit warren in medieval times and this forms the reserve core. Another Area of Outstanding Beauty in our area which includes 16 hectares of pasture and 40 hectares or arable land. Species re-colonisation, seed sowing and grazing are helping restore wildlife-rich habitat to the site.
You can find out more about its accessibility for humans and dogs on the Kent Wildlife Trust website.

Enjoy some great music with Mum....
Spend 90 minutes in the afternoon enjoying great live music and local history.
“Medway in the Mood” Pilkington Lecture Room at Chatham Maritime
This is a Big Band Concert with a difference. A multimedia celebration of jazz and swing music will be performed by the University of Greenwich’s Big Band to raise money for the local Medway Wisdom Hospice
It will take you on a nostalgic journey through 100 years and more of the music that is sentimental, jazzy, patriotic, brassy, romantic with a program that includes new arrangements of much later modern popular music in the swing and Big Band style. Listen to favourites from Glenn Miller, Cole Porter, Bennie Goodman, Scott Joplin, Irving Berlin and even ABBA. Repertoire includes classic & Latin jazz, blues, pop and some show tunes.
Linked to this timeline of music will be an audio visual presentation highlighting events in history of Chatham and the Medway area.
There’s no charge for the (limited) tickets but there will be a collection for the local Wisdom Hospice. Get all the information you need to go along here.
